Figure 11.34 - the zero mark on the clean sandstone line is incorrectly placed (I think). May I use a version of your figure 11.35 to show my client some limitations of a simple conversion from neutron porosity to bulk density?

3rd Edition, page 123. "On the API log format (Figure 1.6)," Figure 1.6 is on page 5 and is a picture of a drill head. I think this is a misprint and should be pointing to page figure 1.10 on page 8.

Dear Malcom Rider I am studying the text and illustration of Figure 10.26, chapter 10 page 202 from your book 'geological interpretation of well logging'. I hope I have understood it correct and that you have a misspelling. When pore fluid can't be expelled anymore and become overpressured, then compaction become reversal, and the bulk density must therefore decrease. But you have stated that the bulk density increase. Which is correct, please?

I came across Doctor Riders works when conducting research on rural Scotland and I would be interested to know if he did some of his Doctorate research in the west coast of Ireland in the late 60's

Malcolm, I'd like to add something on depth determination. This measurement is vastly misunderstood and not very well determined, industry-wide. I'd be happy to add to contribute to this, and help with adding some fundamentals and pointers. I have been using your book, also in the training i organized, since it first came out. It would be good to have an opportunity to contribute. Contact me if you think that this might be of use.
